clean up Balok Beach in an effort to minimise the impact that trash brings to our marine ecosystem.
The event was organised by OSK Property, with the support of OSK Foundation, Malaysian Nature Society (Pahang branch) and Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia. The event aimed to increase awareness among the public on the importance of maintaining a clean beach to help conserve our marine ecosystem. Volunteers started their day with an energetic Zumba dance before the beach clean-up. A total of 368 kilograms of trash was collected at the 1km stretch of public beach fronting the TimurBay Sales Gallery up till Swiss-Garden Resort Residences.
OSK Foundation also donated RM3,000 each to the Pahang branch of Malaysian Nature Society and Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia to support their effort on Environmental Education and Turtle Conservation projects respectively.
Various other activities were held throughout the day which included a talk by the Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia about turtle conservation and ecosystem of the wildlife, a colouring activity and 3D turtle making.
